Pop UP Produce Packaging
Fun, fresh packaging to help combat food deserts
Pop Up Produce’s mission is to empower families and individuals to grow their own food while educating them on the benefits of fresh produce. I worked with them to create the packaging for their Fresh Start Herb Kits that are sold through a “buy one, give one” model to provide herbs for schools and families in food desert communities. The organization’s existing logo, colors, and pattern were utilized to create a vibrant, inviting packaging design. Hand drawn elements were created to keep a fun, youthful image. The cost was a significant issue, so packaging that consisted of a paper wrap around a cardboard box provided an effective solution that can easily be assembled by volunteers. A “How to Grow Guide” was added to each kit to provide education and make growing herbs more approachable.
