Charlotte Museum of History

A fresh look for a historic location

The Charlotte Museum of History “interprets and preserves Charlotte’s unique history, enriching the community through shared understanding of the past and inspiring dialogue about the future.” My goal was to create a branding system that felt historic and traditional but not stuffy or stale. The museum was founded specifically to restore and preserve the Hezekiah Alexander Home Site, the oldest surviving house in Mecklenburg County. I chose to represent this legacy of stewardship through the logo which features a silhouette of the distinctive building encircled by the letter “C”. A patriotic color scheme was created to reflect the museum’s emphasis on the American Revolution.

This is a conceptual rebrand created for a class project.
